Rod is a native Phoenician who has spent his entire career specializing in every facet of land development and home building. In addition to leading the Del Mar companies, Rod focuses much of his time and energy on the acquisition, planning and development of land, always with the goal of creating family friendly communities with beautiful homes of which every homeowner can be proud.
Rod’s achievements have grown out of his long and distinguished career in the Arizona Real Estate market that has spanned more than 30 years. Rod is a developer, a home builder, a licensed general contractor, and a licensed Realtor. His expertise extends to land acquisition, deal structure, financing strategies and structure, land planning, land development, management and homebuilding.
After graduating from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Business, Rod entered the United States Air Force where he served with distinction as an Air Traffic Controller. Upon completion of his 4 year Military Service, Rod returned to Arizona to begin his career in the Real Estate industry.
Rod started as a field-intern with a major publicly traded homebuilding company, where he rose rapidly from assistant superintendent to President of the company’s Arizona Operation in only six years.
With ten solid years of professional management and homebuilding experience under his belt, Rod left the corporate world to enter the entrepreneurial world by beginning his own development company, Del Mar.
By understanding the needs of the homebuilding industry, Rod made his mark by providing a variety of services to home builders including land banking, managing entitlements, community development, and niche homebuilding for the Del Mar Companies.
Rod’s efforts have resulted in the development of more than 100,000 lots, and the construction of more than 45,000 homes during his 30 years as a developer and licensed general contractor. He is considered by many to be the finest land developer in Arizona.
Rod is happily married, with two beautiful daughters and three beautiful grandchildren.
Bob originally hails from Washington, D.C., but he has made his home in Arizona since 1982. After graduating from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, Bob began his career in Real Estate finance as a construction lender with Riggs National Bank. He then joined Mortgage Investors of Washington, a publicly traded REIT, where he rose to the position of Chief Financial Officer at the age of 28.
Bob entered home building by developing a large mobile home community in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; after which he joined National Housing Partnership as Vice President of "for sale" joint ventures. He was then recruited by Pulte Home Corporation as President of their Arizona Division. With the help of Rod Morris, Bob grew Arizona to the largest, and most profitable Division of Pulte Home Corporation at that time.
Bob served briefly as President and Board Member of Canoa Homes, a subsidiary of SunChase Holdings in Arizona, before becoming Nevada Division President for Beazer Homes. Bob left Beazer to form and operate several private development companies, before returning to Phoenix to re-connect with his long time friend and colleague, Rod Morris, as CFO of Del Mar.
During his distinguished career, Bob has developed more than 7,000 homes, producing $750 Million in revenues for others, and nearly 3,000 homes, producing more than $350 Million in revenues for companies in which he was an owner.
Bob has also been active in politics over the years, forming friendships with former President George and Barbara Bush, and with Governor Mitt and Ann Romney, when he held senior positions in their campaigns. Bob has served in a number of civic capacities:
